The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) announces that Tonya P. Wilkerson has joined the OGC Board of Directors.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Wilkerson\u00a0has\u00a0more\u00a0than\u00a0three decades of distinguished service across the U.S. Intelligence Community. Most recently, she served as the Deputy Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) from 2021 to 2024, where she led global geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) efforts to support U.S. national security. In 2024, she was the Presidential nominee for Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Wilkerson\u2019s executive leadership experience includes serving as Associate Deputy Director for Science and Technology at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where she oversaw directorate strategy and talent management, and leading the Mission Operations Directorate at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), managing the satellite operations enterprise.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
An\u00a0electrical engineer by training, Wilkerson began her career as a project management engineer at the NRO, focusing on maturing advanced technologies for system integration. She is a dedicated mentor and has professional\u00a0expertise\u00a0in satellite operations, research and development, and technology integration.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
